Welcome to Sheffield University Lacrosse. Here you can find information about the teams at the University. We are an open, friendly club constantly looking for new members of all standards, from complete novices to internationals.

The season has now finished for this year but if you're still interested in joining, you're welcome to turn up to any of our training sessions next year starting in October 2012.  You are also welcome to register your details on the Freshers 2012/13 page and we'll send you more information about it.

CONGRATULATIONS TEAMS OF 2011/12

Now that the Mens, Womens and Mixed Season are over, the Club are focusing on:
  - The Sports Awards Charity Raffle 2012 rasing money for CLIC Sargent
  - The Half Marathon being run by Imogen, Laura, Olivia, Kim, Georgie, Anna, Charlyn, Abbie raising money for  
    CLIC Sargent
  - Getting prepared for next season!

Sports Awards Charity Raffle to take place again this Wednesday 16th May 2012 after last year raised £2883.03 for CLIC Sargent for Children with Cancer

Once again we are holding a Charity Raffle at the Sports Awards on Wednesday 16th May 2012 to raise money for CLIC Sargent for Children and Young People with Cancer

Last year The Sports Awards 2011 took place on 18th of May 2011 at the Octagon and at this event the Sheffield University Lacrosse Club organised a Charity Raffle for which some amazing prizes were donated such as 3 nights stay for 2 in a 5 star hotel in MALTA including flights, signed photograph of Darren Fletcher, £135 Gift card at www.onepiece.com, £50 voucher for PA Jewellery, 2 free tickets for any show at sheffield theatres as well as over 30 more fantastic prizes collected by our culb members.
The raffle was hugely successful raising £2883.03 for a charity so dear to us, which why we are holding it again this year to raise more money for this wonderful Charity!

New to lacrosse and fancy giving it a go?

Our GIAG session will be confirmed in Freshers Week 2012, we will post it here as soon as possible!

Come along for a fun taster session in Lacrosse, learn the basic skills (pass, catch and shoot) and make LAX mates for life.  The session is for boys and girls looking to try out lacrosse and meet some of the current members.  Tickets will be just £3 and can be bought online or from the Union box office.  Alternatively, turn up and pay on the day.

If you would like to come, please also sign up to receive further information nearer the time and wear suitable sports clothing (we'll be outside on astroturf).  Hope to see you there.

NEW 3D PITCH AT GOODWIN

Goodwin are in the process of creating a NEW 3D pitch at Goodwin that will be marked up for Lacrosse, we are all very excited about this and look forward to utilising it next year!

Womens Team win TEAM OF THE YEAR at last years Sports Awards 2011

Following their undefeated season or 2011, the women's team capped of an excellent year by winning the prestigious Team of the Year award at the annual University of Sheffield Sports Awards. The girls finished a difficult season by winning the Northern 2A Conference, gaining promotion to the 1A league and then went on to win the Northern Conference Cup and of course beat close rivals Sheffield Hallam in Varsity.

This year the womens team have had a tough season but have stayed up in the 1A league and are looking forward to next season!

New Committee for 2012/13

This years AGM was the prefect opportunity to wrap up what has been an excellent season for the Lacrosse Club. Team awards were given out on the night and thanks were given to this years committee for all of their hard work through out the season. We wish the best of luck to all of our players who graduate this year and hope to see them again in the future at our Old Boys and Old Girls games.
